On the final day of the Republican Party Convention, Ruy Teixiera of the Liberal Patriot joined the growing number of voices who recognize that "The GOP seems to be leaning into its emerging identity as a working-class party." Teixiera points to the fire-breathing speech given by Teamsters President Sean O'Brien on the first day of the convention. Invited by the RNC, O'Brien took no prisoners in denouncing both big business and globalists companies like Amazon for "waging a war on American workers." To the discomfort of many in the crowd, he also staunchly defended the role of trade unions. The rest of Teixiera's article focused on J.D. Vance's speech and his attacks on America's ruling class, on the free-trade policies which have destroyed American jobs. Among the extensive quotes he chooses from Vance's speech, this one stands out: "We're done, ladies and gentlemen, catering to Wall Street. We'll commit to the working man."
