Is DOJ'S National Security Division Now A Branch Of Ukrainian Secret Intelligence?

This week’s new Russiagate follies continued Thursday with the shameful indictment of Dimitri Simes and his wife, Anastasia, in Washington D.C. The indictment of Dimitri Simes involves the simple fact that he continued to broadcast his long-standing show, “The Great Game” on Russia’s Channel One after the Biden/Harris Administration sanctioned that outlet following the initiation of the Russian Special Operation in Ukraine in 2022. Think about that. The United States is now directly intervening to prevent further broadcasts on a Russian television channel which does not presently function in the U.S.

All the people targeted in this ongoing rush to the totalitarian barricades share one thing in common: opposition to the current war in Ukraine which the United States is in the process of losing after creating the circumstance in which over 1 million Ukrainians have died uselessly, stupidly, criminally. According to her indictment, Anastasia Simes bought Russian art here for the sanctioned Russian individual, Aleksandr Udodov. So, the FBI has dutifully seized the art, and the indictment claims its purchase represents a money laundering crime in addition to disobedience of sanctions.

Of course, like 2016 and 2020, this new iteration of the Russiagate hoax is also intended to smear Donald Trump for his continuing opposition to the Ukraine war and his claim that the United States should get along with Russia, China, and others rather than going to war with them in that final incident of Götterdämmerung which will end the human race.  We covered the new Russiagate indictment of two Russia based employees of Russian state TV, RT, yesterday, with its wholly egregious smear tactics against conservative influencers Benny Johnson, Dave Rubin, and Tim Pool.

It is easy to see how this indictment fits in that part of the current war for the country. If you support Trump or disbelieve the Russiagate narrative, we will do everything in our power to discredit you as a Russian dupe. That is the intended message here.

As Glenn Greenwald makes abundantly clear in his coverage of this, the alleged $10 million involved in presenting banned Russian speech and viewpoints to the American public represents a pittance of what the Democratic Party raises and spends daily spreading its war mongering narratives and hate. Greenwald writes: 

“That was one of the things that always made Russiagate (back in 2016) such a joke to me from the start was that even if it were true, aside from the fact that the U.S. does all of this and much, much more of it, even if it were true, the idea that a few fake Russian accounts on Facebook, with a couple of hundred followers and dozens of Russian bots with no followers on Twitter, somehow was sufficient to sway the election in favor of Donald Trump given the massive amounts of establishment money that are poured into this race to determine the outcome of this election. It's laughable on its face. This is all designed to create that same narrative.”

In his piece, Greenwald also covers the Democratic Party’s recent attacks on the Green Party’s Jill Stein, who is polling around 1% in some key battlegrounds. Their furor involves Stein’s support of the Uhuru 3, black leftists and socialists who despise Kamala Harris and the Ukraine war who were indicted last year by the Biden/Harris Justice Department for their advocacy against the Ukraine war. As Greenwald writes,

“They're all like 78 years old. The lead defendant, I think, is in his early 80s, and they've spent their entire lives doing things like opposing what they consider to be imperialism, the American attempts to go around the world, use its military, use its money to influence and dominate various regions in the world. They hate NATO. They think NATO is one of the arms of U.S. imperialism. And so, if you look at the context of these people's lives, of course, they were opposed to the NATO and U.S. funding of the war in Ukraine, because it's completely consistent with their lifelong ideology that maybe you agree with, maybe you don't, but they've espoused for their entire life.”

The felony charges against them, like the RT indictment, involve allegedly disguising Russian influence on them—in their case an alleged receipt of $150 reimbursement for an event they did. AOC and other deranged leftists who became fascists are now violently attacking Jill Stein for hanging out with and supporting these alleged “Russian agents.”

But the most disgusting indictment in this shameful episode is the indictment against Simes and his wife. It is disgraceful. It proves that the DOJ is nothing but a bunch of fascist thugs, apparently trying to one up their Nazi Azov Battalion mentees in Ukraine itself. As we have written previously, the involvement of the Ukrainian Secret Services in the original Russiagate hoax back in 2016, and Ukraine’s continued centrality in British/U.S. State Department full spectrum information warfare operations against the American public are, perhaps, the most hidden aspects of our present descent into the world of George Orwell’s 1984. 

Dmitri Simes comes from a family of famous Soviet dissidents. His father and mother were lawyers who defended other Soviet dissidents, for which they were barred from the Soviet Union and exiled. The Washington Post once covered Dimitri’s family’s travails honestly, at least in the obituary for his father.

After being imprisoned for his dissent in the Soviet Union, Dimitri Simes fled to the United States. Recognizing that his insights about the Soviet government were invaluable, Simes was embraced by even the hardliners in the American foreign policy and intelligence establishment (David Abshire, Fred Ikle, Paul Nitze) – that is back in the time when Washington still understood that it was important to have an elementary understanding of the motives and thinking of an adversary.  President Nixon appointed him to run the then Nixon Center for Peace and Freedom, which later became the Center for the National Interest. Simes’ advice to Donald Trump during his 2016 campaign resulted in DOJ’s unaccountable National Security Division targeting him with multiple derogatory references in the specious report of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Unaccountable, because under Obama, this section of the Department became a classified operations center for dirty international lawfare campaigns, off limits to both Congressional oversight and the DOJ’s Inspector General. They authored the current Simes indictments.

Throughout his time in America and as a proud American citizen, Simes assisted in the demise of the Soviet Union but promoted détente and good relations with Vladimir Putin’s nationalist and Christian Russia. He had been a critic of the proxy war against Russia using Ukraine since its onset, with the overthrow of the duly elected Ukrainian government in 2014. With the outbreak of war in 2022, Simes returned to Russia where he had worked for Channel One for some years as a broadcaster, this time with the role of providing an understanding of the United States.

Last month, the FBI searched his Virginia home for days. In his interviews about the incident, he reports that his house in Virginia had previously been profiled, surveilled, and intruded upon by Ukrainian nationals. Larry Johnson interviewed him about his life and career soon after the search occurred. See video above. As he says, the attack on him, at age 76, is meant to prevent any genuine Russian/American dialogue. With a 20-year sentence hanging over his head, the U.S. has thanked him for his service by making it impossible for him to come back to the United States at this critical time. It is a rage fit by the lost warriors of the American establishment and their Ukrainian proxies, hellbent on keeping the ugly truth about our perfidies in Ukraine and their now six-year campaign against Donald Trump from the American people.
